I first saw this demionstrated on the TV.... I didn;t believe it, but since I love chips I thought it would be worth the splurge. I read the reviews on Amazon, so I was well prepared to use it ... on the bad side, the reviews spoke about the large size, the relatively flimsy mechanism, almost inaudible timer, and the importance of following the guide/recipes to the letter. this I have done - and have been delighted. On the negative side, the closure mechanism is insecure, so I have to keep an eye out, or put a weight on the lid. On the plus side - the chips are BETTER cooked this way. It allows excellent potato flavours. They recommend you try lots of varieties of spud, and lots of varieties of oil. Sop far Maris Peer or Maris Piper, or best of all King Edwards top the list ... but baby new potatoes are also great. Personally, I find the "good" high omega oil as good as anything, and better than most. Sausages are trouble free... no skins splitting, just put in, set the timer, and don't over do them. You can also do a passible "stir fry" that is quite delicious. Excellent. Very happy. Now all we need is some imaginative researcher to come up with a proper recipe book. Highly recommended.
